We live in a world that is changing constantly. These changes create complex challenges for students as they anticipate their future. Theses continue to have substantial impact on the personal/social, career, and academic development of students. As these and other changes are taking place in society, many schools provide programs and services help students deal effectively with these complex challenges. Guidance and counselling is an important educational tool in shaping the orientation in a child from negative ideas that is planted in the child by his/her peers.
At Vikas Bharati Public School, the Counselling set up with trained Counsellors help students, parents, and teachers solve problems. They understand and respond to the challenges presented by today’s diverse student population and serve a vital role in maximizing student achievement. The school counsellors work with a view that every child holds an exclusive set of traits and abilities and the mental health of every child is unique.
The School Counsellors at VBPS work with students, teachers, parents, and administrators to help ensure that students’ educational, vocational, and emotional needs are being met. School counsellors provide crisis intervention services and individual and group counselling to help all students develop their educational, social, career, and personal strengths and become responsible and productive citizens. They support a safe learning environment and work to safeguard the human rights of all members of the school community.
Along with taking individuals sessions, orientation and sensitization sessions are also taken along with students on topics like bullying, life skills, adolescent concerns and collaborating with teachers to present guidance, life skills, suggestions for better classroom management.
