Srinivasa Ramanujan is one of the best known Mathematician of modern age. He has contributed a lot in Mathematics and is well known for his works in number theory.

To celebrate the birth anniversary of Sh. Srinivasa Ramanujan, GANIT (Growing aptitude in numerical innovations and training) week was observed in the school from 16th Dec 2015 to 22nd Dec 2015.

During this week, various activities and competitions were held in different classes.

Quiz Competition 18.12.2015

A quiz competition was conducted for the students of class VI-VIII. The competition was held among four teams and the teams were selected on the basis of a preliminary test.

     
 

 

 

 

 

 

     

Interactive session on Mathematics : 21.12.2015

An interactive session was conducted by students of class XI for class VIII and IX where the students explained the work done by our ancient Indian mathematician with the help of a PowerPoint presentation.
     
 

     

Treasure Hunt based on Mathematics : 22.12.2015

Treasure Hunt was an interesting game which was conducted by class XI and XII with the help of teachers. In this game four teams were given different tasks which could be completed by the hints given .These hints were mathematical questions and their answers lead to the path towards the treasure.

     
 

     

AAVISHKAR QUIZ SERIES 2015

Vikas Bharati Public School organized the ‘Aavishkar Quiz’ series under the aegis of Central Board of Secondary Education in the area of Mathematics, Science and Technology for the students of classes I to XII. The school supported the Board’s endeavor as it presented a series of quizzes for the students; who took part with extreme enthusiasm, lifting the ethos of education. The students’ hard work engendered the ethics of curiosity, innovation and exploration amongst other children. Furthermore, it inculcated the values of creativity and imagination within the school premises. The eligible candidates were selected on the basis of MCQ Quiz. The best two students were selected from each category. The details of the selected students have been attached with the report. Through this venture, the students were able to evolve the sense of science and mathematics and bring out the best within them. It further aroused the feeling of inquisitiveness amongst the audience as well as the participants. The Principal congratulated the winners and the competition culminated with a vote of thanks, empowering the students to engage in the field of science and mathematics.

Road safety week

     
C.B.S.E organised a road safety week from 11th to 17th January. On this context Vikas Bharati Public School organised various activities as suggested by C.B.S.E. Vikas Bharatian’s participated actively in various activities like Essay writing, Poster making, Walkathon etc.. Children participated with lot of enthusiasm in all the activities. Such activities help in creating awareness and develops a felling of cooperation.
     
 

 
     
     

World Tobacco Day

     

World Tobacco Day is celebrated every year on 31 May around the world. It is associated with World Health Organization ( W.H.O.) The day is intended to draw attention towards widespread prevelance of tobacco use and its negative effects towards health. Even non-smokers are exposed to tobacco. Our government, Public Health Organizations have been taking efforts to make people understand that using tobacco is not good for health.

The students of IX B presented their views in the form of a write-up. They believe that tobacco should be banned so that passive smoking can be stopped people have good health all around the world.

Types of cases ( Karak)

Screening of films produced by Vigyan Prasar: 16.12.2014

Students of class IX were shown the films produced by Vigyan Prasar in educomp room.

The titles of the movie shown were :

  • Legacy of maths at work and play
  • Mathematics and Science communication
  • Circumference of the Earth

An essay writing competition was conducted for class VIII students. Topic of the essay was “Great Mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan”.Students were given a word limit of 150 – 200 words. All the students of class VIII participated with great enthusiasm and learnt the facts about Srinivasa Ramanujan.
       
 

 
       
 

 
       

Quiz Competition 18.12.2014

       

A quiz competition was conducted for the students of class VI & VII. 8 teams played the quiz wherein each team had 1 student from class VI & one from class VII.

Experience sharing on innovation by teachers & students: 19.12.2014

       
A workshop was conducted by Ms. Vijaya Laxmi & Ms. Charul Madan with XI class students wherein the students & teachers exchanged different formulas related to straight lines and other topics.

Origami activity was held in class IV & V, in which the students made different shapes using Origami.
       
 

 
       
 

 
Also, the poster competition was held for class X students.

    The students were given 3 topics for poster competition:

  • Mathematical Rangoli
  • Mathematics in everyday life &
  • Mathematics in nature
       

     

       

Students were supposed to make the poster on A3 sheet choosing any topic for their poster. Through this activity, students learnt the importance of mathematics in everyday life & in nature.

To culminate the function, mathematics exhibition was held in school premises on 22.12.2014. The topic of exhibition was “Mathematics in Every Day Life”. Students of all classes participated in the exhibition with their models & made the exhibition a grand success.
